Dan Perez

Dan Perez is responsible for Solectron’s demand creation
processes, which includes strategic planning, marketing and
market research.

Mr. Perez started with the Milpitas-based Solectron in 1991
as its director of materials. He later became the vice president
of materials for the company’s California facility.

In 1995, Mr. Perez worked as the general manager of
Solectron’s printed circuit board assembly operation in
Fremont.

The following year he received a promotion to corporate vice
president and chief administrative officer to oversee all corporate
administrative functions. Those functions included: corporate
communications, business transformation, government and
community affairs, the corporate ethics office, worldwide
facilities, security, corporation quality, strategic marketing and
planning, and organizing the annual operating plan process.

Before Solectron, Mr. Perez held several management positions
at IBM. His last position there was in disk storage operations
as its senior manager for supply and demand.

Mr. Perez is on the board of several associations: the American
Electronics Association, the Tech Museum of Innovation, the
Mexican Heritage Corporation, the Center for Training and
Careers in San Jose, El Teatro Campesino, and Lifeguard Inc.
He also serves as the vice chairman for California State Center
for Quality Education and Development.

Mr. Perez received his B.A. in political science and his M.A. in
business administration from the University of California, Los
Angeles.
