David Peterschmidt

 From 1991 until joining Inktomi in July 1996, Mr. Peterschmidt
served as Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of
Sybase, Inc., a database company. From 1988 to 1991, Mr.
Peterschmidt was a consultant with The Kappa Group for strategic
business and marketing plan development and provided senior level
sales and marketing training. From 1980 to 1988, Mr. Peterschmidt
served as a senior manager in sales and marketing for a number of
computer companies. Before his high technology career, he was an
Air Force pilot and worked on the original B-1 bomber project. Mr.
Peterschmidt holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science
from the University of Missouri and a Masters of Business
Administration from Chapman College.
