Rolando Loera was born in Harlingen, Texas in 1953. He received
his BA degree in accounting from the University of Washington in
1977.
From 1984 until 1992, Mr. Loera was chief financial officer of
Touché Manufacturing. Then in 1992 the parent company, TMCI
Electronics, went through bankruptcy proceedings which affected
Touché. Recognizing the company's potential, in September of 1992,
he completed a leveraged buyout of the business assets and began
the monumental task of returning the company to profitability. At
times he needed to borrow working capital at 30% per annum from a
local lender. Mr. Loera states, "I am still grateful to that lender that
took the risk and believed in me". As a result, TMCI and TEI have
quadrupled in sales. Becoming one of the Top 100 companies of the
Top 500 Hispanic Businesses in the United States. Through his
leadership and foresight the businesses went public in 1996 as wholly
owned subsidiaries of TMCI Electronics.
Currently, Mr. Loera serves as Chairman, President and CEO of
TMCI Electronics, the parent company. The San Jose based
companies operate as contract manufacturers of custom fabricated
metal products, and providers of value-added turnkey and wire cable
manufacturing services to original equipment manufacturers.
TMCI is also a good corporate citizen. Mr. Loera founded the
Corporate Scholarship Program for East Side Union High School
District, actively participates in an informal adopt-a-school program
and works closely with students in a mentoring capacity. He still finds
time to be active in sports related activities. Mr. Loera is a member
of the San Jose Sports Authority and co-founder of the San Jose
Trail Tigers Training Program for East Side track and field runners. |
