Steve Kirsch

Steve has been involved with the Internet and high-tech companies
for more than 27 years. He began his career in 1972 when he
worked at the first ARPANET node as a systems programmer while
still attending high school.

Since the early 80s, Steve has been founder and CEO of three
successful technology companies. His most recent, Infoseek
Corporation, was founded in 1994. In 1995, Infoseek began
providing the "Net Search" service for Netscape and quickly became
one of the largest advertising-supported sites on the Internet. While at
Infoseek, Steve was responsible for creating many of Infoseek's
award-winning products including the NetSearch service, Ultraseek
Server, Infoseek Express, GO Guides, and GO Auction. Infoseek
was acquired by Disney in November 1999.

Before Infoseek, he founded Frame Technology, which was acquired
by Adobe, and Mouse Systems Corporation.

Steve is also an active philanthropist and, together with his wife
Michele, has started a $75 million foundation which has donated over
$5M a year to a wide variety of charitable causes. In 1999, they
were named Outstanding Philanthropists of the Year by the Silicon
Valley chapter of the National Society of Fund Raising Executives
and recognized by Slate Magazine as the 8th largest charitable givers
in America.

Steve holds both B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering and
computer science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
