Volunteers
How do I get involved?
There are many ways to get involved with Junior Achievement. As a classroom volunteer, you'll discover the benefits of having direct impact on local education and the fun of sharing your experience with students.

How much time will it take?
Very little! In fact, it only takes about one hour a week for 5-10 weeks depending on grade level. Preparation time is also minimal, usually less than one hour per week.

Do I have to know how to teach?
No you don't! We give you current, step-by-step materials, activities, and discussions developed by professionals. We outline each activity and help you make each lesson exciting.

Exactly what will I be doing?
You will help school age youth understand the world around them. Using hands on activities relevant to student interests and lifestyles, you will enrich the curriculum with your own experience. Everything you need to teach the class is provided for you. You will also receive training and support from JA staff members.

Company Participation
Your company can get involved too, by participating in the annual Bowl-A-Thon, Golf Classic, Golf Marathon, Business Hall of Fame or other fund raising events.

Service Learning
High school and college students teach JA elementary school classes, providing an avenue for community service as well as an opportunity to experience the teaching profession while developing skills in leadership, communication and organization. Through Service Learning these older students provide important role models for elementary school students.
